There was perfect weather, and an i nusually large crowd. Results:— MAIDBN HANDICAP, six furlongsPetty Ethel, 7.13, 1; Monocrat, 9,2; Ctiroa, 3, 3- Also started —Lombardy 8.9, Vexation 8.5, Mavourncen 8.2, Dolavniite 8,; Chesline 7.13, Alys 7.13, Mama 7.12, Dina 7.12. The winner placed the result beyond doubt from the rise of the barrier and gained the verdict by threo lengths. Time, lmin 18sec.
FLYING HANDICAP, six furlongsBlue and Black, 8.4, 1; Scottish Knight, 8.4, 2; Winning Lass, 7.9, 3. It was a keen contest with an exciting finished. Won by a nose. Time, lmin 17}sec. KAWAKAWA CUP, one milo and n quarter.—Mountain Gold, 8.4, 1; Glucian, 9,2: Slow Coach, 7, 3. Also started— Penona 8.6. It was a tight finish, heads dividing the placed horses. Time, liiuin 13sec.
