SATURDAY'S GAMES. INSTITUTE '"r". BROOKLYN. At Association Park on Saturday afternoon the Institute team met Broklyn. The gamo proved to be most uninteresting Institute showing mucin! more combination than their opponents, consequently a large score was registered. At the commencement of the game play centred in midfield, but shortly afterwards Harris, one of Institute's centre forwards, secured the ball, and from a difHoult position his kick got home. Immediately afterwards Porter on the left wing centred to Houston, who headed the ball in. Institute 2, Brooklyn 0. Institute commenced to attack strongly, Harris adding two moro goals in quiok succession, the being obtained from a mix-up in front of the posts. Halftime found Brooklyn on the defence, tho score reading: Institute 4, Brooklyn 0. On resuming Institute again started a series of forward rushes. Porter securing the ball from a melee and without any difficulty scored his first goal? Up-and-down play followed for a spell, until Porter, regaining possession after some clever work, made an attempt to score, but tho ball hit the top bar. Brooklyn mado strenuous efforts to scoro, hut on eaoh occasion Tarrant, tho Institute "goalie," saved in good style. The ball was then thrown in mid air, and Houston, rushing up, easily headed It in. MoArthur for Institute scored twice in succession, and just,on tho call of time Smith added another goal, the game ending in Institute's favour by 9 goals to nil. Mr V. Astill was the referee. OTHER SENIOR GAMES.
Y.M.C.A. 3, defeated Diamonds, 1. Thistle 3, defeated Porirua, 1. The Petone. v. Marist gamo ended in n draw, both sides' reslgstorlng a goaU JUNIOR. Marist (5) defeated Y.M.O.A. (1). Swifts beat Petone B bv 3 to 1. FOURTH A GRADE. Marist (21 beat South Wellington (1). FOURTH B GRADE. After a strenuous match Wadestown defeated Thorndon by 1 goal to nil. Porirua (9) beat Diamonds (0), FIFTH A GRADE. Marist drew with Institute B (1 all). FIFTH B GRADE. The gamo botwoen Thorndon and Seacoun was said to have been one of the fastest games yet shown by any,of the flfth-grado teams. Thorndon defeated Scatoun by 2 goals to 1. Miramnr (3) beat Wndestown (nil) Marist B defeated Y.M.C.A. by " 4 goals to 1.
SIXTH A GRADE. Marist T A defeated Y.M.C.A. by 5 to 1. SIXTH B GRADE. Marißt N won by default from Thorndon. Marist T (3) defeated Wadestown (nil). SIXTH C GRADE. Marist N (6) defeated Marist T (0). At Kelburn Park on Saturday a civilian eleven met the Empire junior men's team in a friendly game and defeated them by 3 goals to 2.
