Tho Marlborough’s searchlights swept tho mountains throughout tho night, and armed parties wore sent to assist the fugitives. Finally it became a race between the Royal people and tho pursuing Bolsheviks, but tho Dowager Empress and her party of eight won, and reached tho jjlarljiorough safely.
