ROMANOFFS IN CRIMEA
EXCITING RESCUE INCIDENT. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, May 4. Tho battleship ■ Marlborough had some exciting experiences rescuing tho Dowager Empress, five Grand Dukes and Duchesses, and nineteen Princes and Princesses'off Yalta, in tho southern Crimea. - It was known that Bolsheviks wero on their track 1 and had sworn to put them summarily, to death. Tho Marlborough’s searchlights swept tho mountains throughout tho night, and armed parties wore sent to assist the fugitives. Finally it became a race between the Royal people and tho pursuing Bolsheviks, but tho Dowager Empress and her party of eight won, and reached tho jjlarljiorough safely.
