(From Our Own Correspondent.) MASTER.TON, May 7
Mr W. Kemp has, been appointed to represent the Masterton Progressive League at the town-planning conference in Wellington. Miss I. Matt-news has been appointed assistant town clerk at Carterton. The following teams will compete in tho Wairarapa Rugby Union's senior championships:—Red Star, Gladstone Camp, Dalefield, and Carterton. Speaking at the Progressive League's lnucheon yesterday, the president (Mr R. J. Young) said that the attendance was discouragingly small, and he was afraid that the luncheons would have to bo discontinued unless better support was accorded them. A man named C. Bridge was thrown from his horse on the Cartor.on road yesterday and had his right ankle broken.
