He would be glad of any suggestions from councillors as to the raising of very necessary money. Owing to tho reduction in borough valuations 'there would bo less money available this year. Councillor Tingey, the only councillor present from the old council, congratulated the Mayor on his ie-eleotion and assured him of tho whole-hearted support of the council. Councillors were strongly in favour of amalgamation with the city.

The council then proceeded with the setting up of the usual committees.
