POLITICAL ACTIVITY
CONFERENCE OF THE LIBERAL PARTY PENDING. Lately there is a considerable movement in political circles in New /Zealand and the activity seems to •■■ bis .7 growing. _ _■:.; The extreme section of Labour U < very much alive, and is bteadily organising for battles ahead. The ••'Progressives" are veiy active, but their operations are mostly in Auckland. On the other hand very little is heard of the Welfare League. Most interesting of sill is the fact; that invitations are but "for" a "confer- - once of the- Liberal Party,, which is to take place in Wellington in about a fortnight's' time. At this conference questions of policy are to be considered and the future of the party is to be [discussed.
