PROPOSED BY HARBOUR BOARD,
Frees Association. AUCKLAND, May 7. Negotiations with, tiha Admiralty on the question of the supply of coal and oil storage for naval purposes have been authorised by the Auckland Harbour Board. The matter came up in connection' with the visit to England ot Mr Russsellj the board's solicitor, who is a, passenger by the Corinthic. A report was presented by the board m committee to the 'effect that, ln> view >f Admiral Jellicoe's "proposed visit to Auckland, the Admiralty be approached with the object of ascertaining ite views upon the establishment of % oil and coal deposits and the- construction of a naval dry-dock ;> and that, in the event of the Admiralty entertaining the mattor, Mr Russoll b© asked when in London to represent the, board, and that the necessary, authority, be given to him to initiate negotiations wi:<h 'the Admiralty, the board'to" be fully consulted and advised *by' him. i ""Th«~report-wa« adopted.
