KIA ORA ARRIVES
SEVERAL CASES OF INFLUENZA ON BOARD.
SHIP QUARANTINED UNTIL FRIDAY.

The Kia Ora, with a large draft of troops' arrived in tho stream ■ at Lyttolton at 5.30 this evening. Tho port health officer on boarding the vessel discovered one case of influenza, among the crew in addition to Beveral among tho' soldiers in the convalescent stage. The ship will not be released from quarantine before Friday morning. It is deemed likely that patient contacts and convalescents will bo removed to Quail Island. Permission has been given to Defence officers under certain restrictions to board the vessel to-morrow to prepare for the disembakation of the troops. The district and port health officers will confer in the morning as to what further steps shall be taken in regard to the outbreaks of influenza aboard.
