VARIOUS RESOLUTIONS. The standing committee on education submitted a List of recommendations to the Technical Education Hoard last evenins, nnd among those adopted were the following: ' " , ITi,-' the letter from the Director.of Education announcing that the scheme of vocational training for returned soldiers had Keen accepted by the Repatriaion Department, and that the Education Department was prepared,""!*) co-operate with the Technical Education Board in carrying c>' the details of the scheme, be received and that the acting-director bo authorised to continue correspondence and work conneotod with such scheme. That the Wellington Labour Representation Committee be informed thai) a vearlv donation of ,£lO minimum had been considered necessary in thp past when nominating a. representative of such - body to the board, and that such was subject to the approval of the Minister for Education. Th-.' the Wellington Electrical Pngineers' and Traders' Industrial Union of Work"-' be informed in similar terms to the ln«t.
Thnf- the acting-director's report upon n. made by the "Wellington Master numbers' Industrial Union of Employe" whereby the junior plumbing nract'"" class bo reduced from 3V hours •to 2 hours' duration, be approved, and that *■*»« . Master Plumbers' Union be notifie-1 in terms of such report, to the effect the concession asked for cannot be acceded to.
That Bliss N. Fitzgerald be appointed ns9ist<"nt shorthand instructress, vice Miss «! Mackay, resigned, on two evenings ->or weak, at a salary of .£2O per annum paid monthly, as from April Ist.
