WOOL AND SKIN SALES
DEMAND FOR FINE CROSSBREDS AND MERINOS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received May 6, 5.5 Ip.m.) ' , LONDON, May 1. At tho Liverpool wool sales, 11,924 bales were offored, half from Queensland and half from New South Wales, and all were sold. The selection of both merinos and crossbreds was poor, but there was keen competition from the home trade. No export was allowed from this sale. Merinos and fine crossbreds brought 5 per cent, above the rates of the last London sale; low crossbreds were unchanged. _ The Bradford wool market is exceedingly firm, and quotations for crossbreds ajid merinos are still .advancing. The London sheepskin sales were largely attended, and there was good competition. Crossbreds and combing wools showed a 10 per cent, advance upon "the last allocation sale. There was a good demand for burry wools and faulty pelts, which reached tho prices of the last allocation sale. Some of the buying, was on French and Belgian account, but none for America or neutrals.
