WHAKATANE
DISABILITIES IN FAST-GROWING TOWNSHIP. Press Association. WHAKATANE, May 6. Mr Banks, chairman of the Education Board, reports officially that Whakatane is the fastest-growing: town in tho Dominion. Discussing this report, tho headmaiiten told ihisj mmmßtt.ee tl'astt evening that he had admitted £3 new pupils last week. The housing problem was serious; one teacher was living in a tent, and another hod been six months trying to get permanent lodgings, and was still homeless.
