Mr Taylor, for some time on the local post office staff, has been transferred to Dunedin. Mr Robinson, late of Trentham Oamp post office, has commenced duties hero.
Privates J. King, E. Gunning, H. Spring, C. Bridie, D. Coley, and J. Stern arrived home during last week, and Sergeant C. Dunckley is expected home this week.
Mr Firth, manager for the Whitannui Flaxmilling Company, has severed his connection with the firm to take up farming in the Poverty Bay district. The Moutoa residents intend giving Mr and Mrs Firth a fitting send-off this week.
Tho Mangahao scheme appears to have made a start at last. During the last two days a large number of workmen have arrived here anil proceeded out to the site. A meeting of tho Peace celebration committee was held last evening, Mr E. J. Spencer presiding. Mr McMillan offered the use of his hall for a patriotic entertainment on Peace night, and promised pictures if wanted. It was resolved to meet the new council on Wednesday evening, and place before it what had been done in this movement. ■
