LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL Tho Legislative Council met yesterday at 2.39 p.m., the Acting-Speaker (the Hon. W. C. Oarncross) in the chair. THE LIQUOR BILL. Sir Francis 801 l announced that the conference on the Sale of Liquor Restriction Bill between managers reproGdting both Houses would be held at 5.30 p.m. PRIVATE MEMBERS’ BILLS. The Shops and Offices Amendment Bill and the Hutt Road Amendment Bill were each read, a second time pro forma, and referred to the Statutes Revision Comnjittee. At 2.40 p.m. the Council adjourned until 8.15 p.m. tho same day. Tho Council resumed at 8.15 p.m., when Sir Francis Bell said the conference had still to sit again. When the Council resumed at 10.15 p.m. Sir Francis Bell stated that tho conference had agreed on all but two clauses. Tho Council then adjourned until 2.30 p.m. on Alonday.
