PAYMENT FOR FROZEN MEAT
THE CONTRACT WITIH THE IMPERIAL GOVERNMENT.
The question of paying for frozen meat on tho hooks in tho freezingworks has already received the careful consideration of the Government, but in view of tho fact that tho present contract with the Imperial Government covers tho period of tho war and for at least three months afterwards, and that the basis of payment is delivery of tbe meat f.0.b., ocean steamer, it is not considered advisable to make any representation to tho Imped'd Government whereby any alteration should bo made in the mode of payment which, as a whole, has worked very ilyThis statement was made ’n the House of Representatives yesterday by Air Massey in reply to a question by Mr Talbot, member for Temuka.
