PROTEST AT GOVERNMENTS DELAY.

Pres* Association

EKETAHTJNA, October I!). A conference of about thirty delegates, representing all the dairy factories in the district, discussed the cheese position this morning and passed the following resolution: —‘‘That this meeting, representing factories in the bush districts concerned with the output of 1500 tons of cheese, emphatically protests at the delay by the Government in arriving at a decision ,to purchase cheese. The season is far advanced and suppliers are financially inconvenienced, and companies are finding they are unable to get money to pay suppliers for hutter-fat supplied.” It was also resolved:—“That the Government he asked to make advances to cheese companies on cheese manufactured until such time as a definite sale is arranged and finances assured.”
