SERIOUS SHORTAGE. EXPORTATION FROM AUSTRALIA PROHIBITED. Tho, Hon. Arthur flyers, Minister for Munitions, was approached by a Hew Zealand Times” reporter yesterday relative to the present position of irhite lead supplies. H c said ho was hopc.nl some time ago of relief being afforded to the Dominion by supplies being available from the Commonwealth of Australia, but he is now m receipt of advice from the Director of Munitions, Melbourne, stating that Aia regretted, owing to the impossibility of obtaining further supples from Great Britain, and the threatened serious shortage in Australia, that the exportation of Australian supplies of white load to Now Zealand is being refused for the timo being. The Director of Munitions in Australia, however, is prepared to give special consideration in regard to applications for supplies to bo used exclusively for shipping purposes
