MILITARY SERVICE BOARD
OASES DEALT WITH YESTERDAY. Tho Third Military Service Board met yesterday under the presidency of Mr H. J. Boswick, with Messrs AO’L. Considine and M. J. Mack. Captain P. Baldwin represented the military authorities. The case of Herbert .W. Carbury, veterinarian, Wallacevillc, was, on tho appeal of the Secretary for Agriculture, adjourned indefinitely. On tho appeal of tho Inspector of Prisons, the cases of two prison warders and David L. Sinclair, medical practitioner at Taihape, were similarly adjourned. On the application of the Commissioner of Police, tho cases of 27 police constables wore adjourned lyFourteen days’ leave was granted to Private AV. A. Bray, 30th Reinforcements, Foat-hcrston, and it was decided to recommend leave until the end of November for Sapper A. J. Johnston, 33rd Reinforcements, Trentham.
The case of Cecil Rhodes, Audit Office, Wellington, was adjourned for two months. An appeal by Commissioner Hodder, of the Salvation Army, secured an adjournment for one month of the case of Captain Cuthbort Bracegirdle. The appeal of Augustine Bevan, crane driver, Hataitai, was allowed, it appearing that tho appellant belonged. to the Second Division. The cases of Clarence Amoves, farmer, Canterbury, and Alfred A. AleCoy, minister. Christchurch, were brought under the provisions allowing the appellants to engage in non-com-batant work on account of religious scruples. Leave without pay till November 3rd was granted to Gunner B. Keyes, and till the cud of November to Sapper J. Walmslcy. The cases of Hugh F. Smith and Hemerton S. G. Tucker, marine engineers, Auckland, were adjourned inrle.fi nitolv. The board adjourned until to-day.
