FORTUNE-TELLING
THREE WOMEN PINED. Pres* Association. AUCKLAND, October 17. Three women —Mrs Stewart, May Loon Lees, and Aleno Arnold—were sentenced to fourteen days’ imprisonment each for fortune-tolling. In each case a police matron and assistant matron visited the defendants, one of whom said that the war would end in 1925, when it would bo won by the Chinese, and another prophesied a duration of fire years, the Americans being the victors.
