CATCHING THE COIN
Anybody who ventures a/broad to-day with loose cash in bis pocket may bo assured that ho will return without it if the “Our Day” collectors have their way. Tho Commercial Travellers,_ _of course, have a special money-raising scheme of their own, by means of which they hope to make a large addition to the general fund. They propose “weighing in” a returned soldier against his weight in money. The scales will he placed on a lorry, and will journey from one end of the town to the other. As the ladies make their collections the money will be deposited in a receptacle balancing the returned soldier. The Prime Minister (Right IHon. W. F. Massey) has agreed to give the enterprise a start at Government Buildings, at 10.30 a.m. At intervals in the day speeches will be delivered by other members of Parliament, including Sir Joseph Ward, the Hon. G. W. Russell, Sir James Carroll Messrs Parata, J. T. M. Hornsby, C J. Parr, Dr Newman.
