“OUR DAY” RED CROSS APPEAL
There is no man or woman in New Zealand who does not feel for our soldier boys who are sick and wounded. To-night before you go to bed, definitely decide that Thursday (“Our Day’’) you will contribute to the full extent of your means. It may b© .£lO3 or it may be threepence, but give it with a good heart and do your part in winning the war. It is to be a long war, and hard fighting moans casualties. Will we allow those boys who are bearing the burden of battle for us to go short of what comfort we can give in their hour of pain and trialf A thousand times no! says every man with blood in his arteries and sympathy in his brain. Tull arrangements have been made for a complete canvass of the citv on Thursday in connection with the appeal. Stalls are allotted in all parts of the city for the sale of flowers, badges, etc. The Commercial Travellers, with their usual originality, are organising a huge moneymaker. A concert lorrv will parade the city, and will be in charge of the following: —Paul Stanhope Revue Company, by permission of Messrs Fuller, Ltd., tn© Bnglish Pierrots, by permission of Messrs Will and Rob Thomas, and the “Charley’s Aunt” Club. Bach of these companies promise to euuplv excellent programmes for the entertainment of the public. It is to be hoped the public will subscribe liberally to show their appreciation of the efforts of the performers.
