CRICKET ASSOCIATION

A meeting of the Wellington Cricket Association was held yesterday evening at tho Civil Service OiU'b. ’ Mr C. G) Wilson occupied the chair, and’ -Othbr members present were Messrs V; B;-Wil-lis, E. H. Ward. A. Bennett, , M;’ -F. Oromibie, B. M. Beeehy, and J. D, Howitt. Honorary meanlbers’ subscriptions wore received from Messrs Li O.’ 'H. Tripp, E. J. Proud, E. D. Bell, C. N: Smith, Sir Joseph Ward R. B.- Grange, C. Smith. T. J. Thurman, 'G. Shirtolilfe, Sir James Allen, J. Duncan, SurgeonGeneral Henderson.

The chairman remarked that they were all pleased with tho alterations made to tho Basin Reserve. but they thought that if the Reserve was to be kept in a proper green state more water must bo provided. The committee should ask the council to provide better facilities for watering the. ground. -A motion was carried appointing Messrs Wilson and Orombie to approach the council on the matter.

It. was decided that practice wiokots in the Basin Reserve should not bo available before 4 o'clock, on the. ground that if practice stated too early, the loaretekcr’s duties in (preparing wickets would bo interfered with. A- letter was received saying that Trentham Camp had decided to enter a senior team; Colonel Potter had taken up the matter and had paid tho subscription to tho association.
