FOR A NEW ZEALAND AIRMAN. By Tolegrraph—Prosi Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, October 11. The Military Cross has been awarded to Lieutenant W. W. Cook, ot the Now Zealand Forces and the Flying Corps, for conspicuous gallantry and skill in an attack on a Zeppelin. He ascended in a strong wind and thick mist, amid low clouds, and eventually gave up the attack when sixty miles at sea. The return journey was hazardous, but he landed safely, after being five and a-half hours in the air. Press Association. PALMERSTON N„ October, 13. Lieutenant Cook, cabled as obtaining the Military Cross for attacking a Zeppelin, is the second eon of Mr W. Cook, cooper, Palmerston North. Ho learned aviation at the Auckland Flyin- School, and left New Zealand jn January.
