YESTERDAY'S WEATHER CHART.
SUMMARY OF PAST TWENTY-FOUR HOURS. Strong north winds have given place to southerlies and the weather has become cold, and rain has fallen in most parts of the Dominion. The barometer has risen steadily in the south, and is now rising in the north. B , AT us. Meteorological Office, Wellington, October lltn, 1917. (Forecast over Leader.) A HINT TO THE SWEETHEART. To the thousands of sensible young women who have men friends serving in the ranks at the front, and who desire te send some article that will be of. real benefit instead of some silly, useless trifle, it may not bo amiss to suggest sending a bottle of Dr. Morse’s Indian Root Pills. A bottle of pills may seem an amusing or unusual thine to suggest, but seriously could anything of equal size or cost be sent that will bo so necessary or useful? It is a well-known fact that the men require such a remedy. The irregular life causes the system to get out of order, and it is this getting out of order that is responsible for suoh an enormous loss from sickness. The shot and shell of the enemy are only Part of the daneers the soldiers face. To be an effective soldier, good health is far and away the most important single item. Dr. Morse's Indian Root Pills are too well known to the public to waste spac» telling what they will do. The little amber -bottle in which they are packed will secure them from all kinds of weather conditions and thev can be carried by the men on their person at. all times without inconvenience. 10,000 bottles of Dr. Morse a Indian Root Pills were offered and accepted by the Australian military authorities during the early months of the war. From letters received from Egypt and other advices the gift of these pills was highly appreciated, because thev met the everyday requirement and kept the men in perfect condition. See that a bottle of Dr. Morse’s Indian Root Pills is included in any parcel being sent to a friend at the front.
