MOBILISATION BILL. NOT TO BE PROCEEDED WITH. “When does the Minister for Public Health expect that the bill enabling him to allocate medical practitioners to the country districts which are in need of them will come before the House?” asked Mr C. A, Wilkinson, M.P. for Egmont, in the House of Representatives yesterday. Some districts, ho stated, were without doctors, and many lives were endangered thereby. Tho Hon. G. W. Russell: “It has been determined by Cabinet not ,to proceed with the legislation affecting the medical profession this 'session. There has been practically a deadlock between the British Medical Association aud myself, as Minister for Public Health, in cd.nection with tho matter. It has be<(i impossible to bridge over tho difficulty, and consequently wo shall have to do the beet we can, os the proposals made by the association will not be available.”
