Reeves, late second officer of the Pntiki, has joined the Union Co.'s service, and has left Wellington for Dunedin for orders. The Komata is to sail from Westport at 7 o’clock this morning with a full load of coal for Wellington. Mr William Berryman, late a cadet on the Union Co.’s training steamer, is -awaiting orders at Wellington to join one of the same company's boats as’ third or fourth officer. The Blackball Coal Co.’s steamer Ngatoro was expected to get away from Greymouth last night with a load of coal for Lyttelton and Napier. The Dunedin-owned brigantine Aratapu is loading coal at Westport for Kaipara. At the latter port she will ship timber for Dunedin. The steamer Storm arrived at Dunedin on Tuesday afternoon from Wanganui and Lyttelton. Arrangements had been made to dock the vessel at Port Chalmers for overhaul and engine-room repairs, but these arrangements were cancelled, as repairs were effected at Lyttelton. „ The Anchor Co. s steamer Regnlns is due at Wellington to-morrow : afternobn with a load of cement from Tarakohe. The vessel will sail at 5 p.m. on Monday for Nelson and West Coast. The Richardson Co.’s steamer Mako arrived late last night from Napier direct, and berthed at No. 12, Jervois quay. After loading transhipments the vessel will sail again for East Coast. THE NGAHERE. The Blackball Company’s steamer Ngahere left Wellington last evening for Greymouth, where she will load coal for Wellington. The vessel is due hero again on Tuesday. Her coal will be for bunkering purposes. WATERSIDE BENEFIT CLUB. A meeting of the Wellington Waterside Workers’ Sick and Benefit Club is to be held in the X Store waiting-room at eight o’clock to-night, for the purpose of Meeting office-bearers and committee. Mr W. Currie and Mr G. Matthews are acting-president and secretary respective, ly, pro tem. THE MAPOURIKA. The Union Company’s steamer Mapourika left Greymouth at 8 o’clock last night for Westport, Nelson, and Wellington. The vessel is expected to arrive here to-morrow afternoon. THE CORINNA. The Corinna left New Plymouth at 1 p.m. yesterday for Wellington, where she is due about 6 o’clock this morning. The vessel is to berth at the Glasgow wharf. She is timed to sail at noon to-monow for Dunedin, Oamaru and Timaru, pith cargo for those ports. UNION COMPANY'S DENIAL. The Wellington office of the Union Company gives a denial to the following statement published in the Wanganui’ “Herald”:—‘‘A new shipping service has been inaugurated between Wellington, Wanganui,' and New Plymouth, and the Union Company’s Rosamond is the first of tho vessels to be engaged to reach this port.
