The Government Statistician writes: Sergeant A. H.* Grant (71336), who was called up for service in the last “Gazette,” lias written saying that he is an attested member of the Expeditionary Force. I havo made inquiries regarding his statement and find it is correct. Sergeant Grant enlisted at the outbreak of the war and went to Samoa; on returning from there after medical treatment he again offered himself and was passed as fit, and is now in camp with the 33rd Reinforcements. “How pathetic it is to see six small farmers sending six small carts with sis small consignments along the same road to the same station twice a day,” said Lord Selborno at the Agricultural Organisation Society. Almost as pathetic as seeing six fat, middlemen making six fat profits before the. stuff reaches the consumer, says ‘'Punch.”
