MILITARY SERVICE BOARD

The Third Wellington Military Service Board met yesterday and disposed of several appeals. Air H. J. Beswick presided with Messrs A. O’L. Cosidino and M. J. Mack. Captain P. Baldwin represented the military authorities. •Six gunners in Featherston Camp got leave, for-a month. , The cases of Kenneth B. Bain, manager of tho State Fire Insurance Department at New Plymouth; Stephen S. Lamb, ploughman, Ko-putaroa; and Albert M. Barr, marine engineering apprentice, were adjourned for two mont oe. The case of Thomas E. Gray, buttnsalesman. was adjourned for three i months. “The -following appeals were dismissed; Frank Jcssop, carpenter: James G. Marshall, labourer. Newtown (leave till , 20th. November); and William O. Satcbwell. hairdresser. The appeal of the employer of Alfred E. Scott; piH foreman, Silverstream, was allowed,-Sc-ott being over age. The case of Gordon N., Mac Diarmid, medical practitioner. Taihape, on whose behalf Dr. Yalintino appealed, was adjourned for a week. Adjournments were made- in the following; cases:—Augustine Bovan, till October TTtu: Herbert Coyle, one week, and - William D. Eyalls, barman, two weeks;; Tha appeals of Oliver J. Weight, milk vendor, Newtown, and Harold K. Douglas, clerk, Kelburn. were allowed on the ground of undue hardship. - -Corporal C. C- Scott, of Trentbam, was recommended for one month's leave without pay. The, appeal of Harold L. McMillan. shepherd. Pe-tone, was allowed, the 'appellant, being under age. The ease of Bernard Rasmussen, sixth engineer, or whoso behalf Huddart-Par-ker and Company appealed, was adjourned until the arrival of an oversea steamer on which the reservist is employed. The adjourned until to-day.
