LADIES’ GALA DAY WELL-CONTESTED EVENTS AT MASTERTON. t Special to the “Times.” MASTERTON, February 27. The annual sports of the Masterton Ladies’ Swimming Club were held today, there being an attendance oi about 500. Additional interest was lent to the sports by the fact that Misses Ella O’Leary and E. Pethenok, of Masterton, who competed at the New Zealand championship meeting, and the Misses Osier (Christchurch), 0. Arthur, D. Bolton, F. Outtnm, and M. Gibbs (Wellington) were among the competitors. Miss Outtrim won the ribbon dive, Miss Arthur the ,to yards championship and 50 yards championship, Miss Bolton the oOyda handicap, Misses Bolton and Gibbs the life-saving, and Miss Osier the Corfu diving.
