Another hotel burglary is reported, the result of which goes to indicate that Auckland is at present b«ng visited by one, or possibly two, of tne criminal typo known as bedroom thieves.” That the offenders are expert at their work is shown by the fact that tho Star Hotel, in Albert street, was entered during the _ early hours of February X4th, and although the haul was not extensive the burglars made a thorough search of at least three rooms occupied by visitors to the city. They obtained some £5 in cash and a email quantity of jewellery, the heaviest loser being a Sydney resident, who lost two sovereigns from his Vousers’ pocket.
