DAMAGES FOR SLANDER
AN UNUSUAL CASE. Press Association. WANGANUI, February 26. At the Supremo Court to-day a case of an unusual nature was heard, when D. A- Fraser sued Osmond Disley and his wife, all of Haloombe, for £507 damages for slander and malicious prosecution. The case was the result of a recent private prosecution in the Magistrate’s Court, when Fraser was charged with having assaulted Mrs Disley, the affair being alleged to have taken place in a bakehouse. The case was then dismissed. The jury to-day awarded £l6O.
