BOWLING
TE HIWI CLUB. For same time past tho members of the above club have been engaged in competition for the singles efiampionship, which carries with it tfio honour of holding the Gorghetti cup for one year. Towards the end of last week the semifinals were entered on and now tho final has just been played. Benzie and Robertson, who have been playing very consistently right through, were tfie finalists, and the former won after a very keen game, the score being 2N-19. Benzie will now represent his club in the champion singles, which will be played off on the Wellington green on March sth. EASTBOURNE CLUB. The following teams will represent the club next Saturday! Against Newtown, at Newtown—Lush, Pilcher, J. Morris, H. VV. Shortt (s). At Eastbourne—MoKeegan, W. F. Shortt, Fleming, Leslie (s). Against Lyall Bay—Wills, W. Morris, Sanson, Avery (s); Stephens. Thompson, Speed, Chittey (a), WELLINGTON CLUB. Last Friday the holders of the Feathers, A. Wylie, B. B. Allen, Berry and T. Ballinger (a), were challenged by Grenfell, Brunskili. Thompson, and Webb (s). The holders scored 25 points and the challengers 14. Yesterday the holders played Hataitai, Cheeseman, Nasmith, Barnes and F. Laurenson (s). After an exciting finish Ballinger’s team won by 19 points to 17. VICTORIA CLUB. The Victoria Bowling Club will play for tho Hill Pins at Karori this afternoon with the following team: Tucker, Hatch. Vareoe, Snaddon (s).
