FATAL ACCIDENT.

TRAIN OVERTURNED ONE MAN KILLED; NINE INJURED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received February 25, 10.45 p.m.) MELBOURNE, February. 25. A fatal accident occurred at Xarra Junction. An engine with ten trucks, belonging to the Powell Wood Process Company, was mounting an incline when two trucks, one containing sixteen of the company’s employees, broke away. Six of the men jumped out before the train gathered momentum. After travelling at a mad pace for some distance the train overturned, and Michael Curtain, one of the occupants, was killed. Another man named Francis Flym was seriously hurt, and eight other slightly injured.
