The Hons. W. F. Massey, W. H. Herries, A. L. Herdman, B. H. Bhodes, and Dr. Pomare are in Wellington. The Hon. W. H. Herries leaves for the Bast Coast district and Auckland tomorrow. The Hon. W. Irene N. Hughes relinquishes her junior scholarship. Hard Bockel, senior “B” scholarship, is permitted to hold it at the New Plymouth District High School, Agnes M. Monorieff, junior National scholarship, has .been granted a transfer from Carterton to Wellington Girls’ College. The department declined to agree to the transfer of W. Terry’s senior “A” scholarship to Canterbury College. It is stated that there is every prospect of Mr J. W. McE'i'-an having a walk-over for the Mayoralty of Petone, but that the council seats will be closely contested. Two waitresses at a oofa in Munich, Bavaria, quarrelled over the ownership of a tip of 10s. All attempts at settling the dispute having failed, they procured revolvers, and fought a duel, which ended in one of the girls being killed.
