INDEMNITY
ESSENTIAL FACTOR IN CONCLUSION OF PEACE. SOFIA, February 23. The Ministry of Finance has issued a statement to the effect that an indemnity will be an essential factor in the conclusion of peace. This has been rendered necessary as a result of the resumption of war. The annexed provinces have been so devastated and depopulated that Bulgaria cannot afford sufficient of her resources to meet her financial burdens. The statement also says that the Allies’ national economy has been seriously affected by the resumption of war.
