ALLEGED CATTLE-STEALING
Press Association. GORE, February 24. William John Richards, with several aliases, was arrested at Gore - on Saturday on charges of stealing three cattle at Edendale on February 17th, and stealing a bicycle at Waianawa on January’ 3rd. Accused was brought before Justices of the Peace, and remanded for eight days. When arrested the accused denied the theft of cattle, but subsequent)} admitted it. When searched a fivechambered loaded revolver was found on accused and a number of cartridges. He stated that he purchased the revolver for the purpose of using it if molested while stealing the cattle.
