Tho fifth round of senior grad* matches under (ho auspices of tho Wednesday Association was concluded yesterday afternoon at the Basin BcaerveThe weather was line, and there was a fair attendance of spectators. YJM.OA. defeated Oriental by 97 runs on the first inumgs, and secured a two-point win. Artillery had an easy victory over Vivian. In their first innings Artillery made 171 and Vivian in both innings could only total IG3. Rivals also secured a fourpoint win over Union. In their first innings Rivals made HO and Union replied with 73. Rivals knocked up 172 in iheir second essay, but Union could only make 39. VIVIAN v, ARTILLERY. At the conclusion of the previous day’* play Vivian had made 43 in their first innings and Artillery had, lost eight wickets for 13$. Continuing their innings yesterday the score was carried to IVT before they were all dismissed. Mclntyre was top scorer with 47, and gave a really nice display. Vivian, who were playing three men short, could only get ill! in their second venture, and were thus defeated by an innings and 9 runs. Mills played very well for 47. For Bed Cross Thomas took tour wickets for 43 runs. Rouse two for 30, Johnson two for 6, and for Collets Bartley captured three for 22, O’Donoghue four for 29 and Gray one for none.
