LABOUR DEMANDS
GRIMSBY TROUBLE FREE LABOURERS DR AAV 27s FOR DAY. DEMANDS BY LONDON BAKERS. By Telegraph—Press Association —Oopyrieht (Received February 19, 0.25 a.m.) LONDON, February 18. Three hundred and fifty free labourers at Grimsby are receiving fortypence per hour. The strikers persuaded many to leave after drawing 27s for a day’s work. Ten thousand London bakers are demanding a fifty-four hours’ week, with 30s per week m shops and 32s in factories. The masters will concede the demand if each man bakes ten sacks weekly. The men reply that this is impossible.
