JAN KUBELIK ILL. LONDON. February 17. Jan Kubelik, the famous violinist, is seriously ill at his home in Bohemia. OPPRESSIVE WEATHER. SYDNEY, February 18. 'The weather is oppressively hot and steamy. A SCORCHING NOR’-WESTER. (Received February 18, 9.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, February 18. A scorching nor’-wester brought the temperature to 100.5, which is the second highest February reading since 1366. DAMAGING HAILSTORM. SYDNEY, February 18. A hailstorm at Cootamundra, 253 miles south from Sydney, smashed hundreds of windows and did other damage. TFe hail was 2ft deep.
