AN EX-DETECTIVE’S CONVICTION
Press Association. AUCKLAND, February 18. Ex-Detective Miller returned to Roto Roa Island to-day voluntarily, awaiting the result of the protest made to rhe Justice Department in regard to his conviction as an liabitual inebriate. Ho states ho has been in touch with the officer in charge of the island since 20 th ult., when ho came to Auckland and applied for a rehearing of his case. No compulsion was necessary regarding his return to Roto Roa.
