BLUE COD FISHERIES

Press Association. DUNEDIN, February 18. Mr G. M.' Thomson, M.P., has sent the following message to the Hon. F. M. B. Fisher, Minister of Marine: “Blue cod season just starting, and fishermen working under old harassing regulations. Suggest that alteration of size limit recommended in report of Commission be gazetted.” The Minister has replied that " a “Gazette” notice in accordance with the report of the Commission is now in course of preparation. The weight limit will be revoked and the size limit fixed at 10J inches in length in natural state, or 9 inches when headed. This regulation will be gazetted on the 26th instant.
