POLAR EXPEDITION
GERMANS IN CRITICAL POSITION. RELIEF PARTY FAILS. (Received February 17. 11.15 p.m.) CHRISTIANIA, February 17. , An expedition failed to rescue the German scientists and returned to Advent Bay. The expedition experienced terrific thunderstorms. Some members were frost-bitten. Seven of the dogs perished, and others are in a pitiable condition. Fresh dogs are awaited from Norway. The position of the Germans is critical.
