The West Virginia striking miners marched to the State capital demanding redress of their grievances. The Legislature was engaged considering an election bribery scandal, and refused the miners a bearing. The police cleared the miners from the building, and an exciting struggle ensued. Scores of arrests were made. The district is still under martial law.
