Boden, who has been on a visit to Auckland, returned to Wellington yesterday. Mrs Hucholz is staying with her sister, Mrs Guy Groves, at ''Bushgrove,” Masterton. Mr and Mrs Moss, of "Narrogin, West Australia, are the guests of Mr and Mrs H. Moss, Karori. Mrs J. Pollock left by the Maori last night on a visit to Mrs Scrimshaw, of Temuka. The death is announced from Nelson of Mrs Nicholson, wife of Mr J. H. Nicholson, artist. Mr and Mrs F. Davison left for the south last night. -They spent a day with Mrs Davison's parents, Mr and Mrs Herbert Bawson, at Seatoun. Tho engagement is announced of Miss Daisy Gould, daughter of Archdeacon Gould, St. Paul's Vicarage, Dunedin, to Mr L- A. Cook, of Dunedin. Mrs Hollia, sister of Mrs 11. Hadliold, is not expected in Wellington until about February 17th. She leaves by the Corinthic for England on February 2Uth. and Mrs Hogbou entertained the delegates of the Inspectors’ Conference at Miss Tendall's tea rooms last night. Mr Hogbeu, Chief Inspector of Schools, Tho engagement is announced of Mr F. jj. Davis, third sou of Mr and Mrs H. P. Davis, to Miss Lisle M. Guy, second daughter of Mr and Mrs A. M. Guy, of Wellington. Mrs and Miss Coomb, of Palmerston North, left yesterday for Sydney on their way to Japan. They intend afterwards visiting America and Europe, returning to inow Zealand about next December. Mr and Mrs Furby, who have been travelling in England and tho Continent for tho past eighteen months, leave Sydney to-day on their return-to New Zealand. They will stay with Mr and Mrs J. W. 'Wallace, Halswell street, for a few weeks. The teaching staff and committee of the Rosoneath School have issued invitations to the unfurling of tho Royal Standard of Scotland by their Excellencies the Earl and Countess of Livcrpool on Saturday next, at 3.30 p.m. The delegates to tho Kindergarten Conference will bo entertained at ihe Pioneer Club on Monday night. All members are cordially invited to attend, and as this will bo a special occasion gentlemen will bo present. One shilling subscription will be charged to members. Mr and Mrs Roles (Sydney), Mr and Mrs Bullen (Wanganui), Mr and Mrs Clifford Thompson (Timarp), Mr, Mrs and Miss Lowford (of Auckland), Mr and Mrs Davis and Mr and Mrs Allen (of Masterton) are all staying at the Empire Hotel. Staying at the Grand Hotel are Mr and Mrs Yates Smith (Melbourne), Mr and Mrs Worth (New York), and Mrs Troutbeck (Napier).
