GENERAL FORECAST FOR TO-DAY. (By the Dominion Meteorologist.) Present indications (5 p.m. yesterday) are for high -westerly winds ,veering to southerly generally, hut heavy gales are probable about Cook and Foveaux Straits. Very boisterius weather probable generally, with heavy showers, some enow on higher, levels, and hail squalls in the south. The barometer is duo to rise everywhere. (Details on Shipping Page.)
