HOSPITAL MATTERS
The hospital committee of the Wei lington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board met yesterday, Mr J. GodbCr presiding. The committee decided to make the following recommendations to the board: That the tenders of Messrs J. Jackson and Co., for painting the maternity ward and. Messrs Scoullar and Co. bo accepted for supply of linoleum maternity ward .and out-patients’ block. That, on completion of tho maternity ward, the secretary advertise for a maternity sister and an honorary obstetrician. That, on the recommendation of the acting-medical Ser-geant-Major Sandborn bo granted permission to enter the Wellington Hospital for two weeks’ training in male wards. That the house steward arrange a larger board to aooominodato the names of the honorary and resident medical staff in tho hospital. The Otaki subcommittee reported:) That the gardener and overseer’s report that the poor yields of milk supply from the herd at Otaki is due to the purchase of inferior stock is substantially borne out by facts. That Mr Tompsitt committed an indiscretion in allowing the cow he sold by auction to be purchased for the institution and for tho 4elay in returning the calf, tho property of the board. That Mr F. T. Moore be appointed chairman of the Otaki subcommittee. That a special committee' comprising Messrs Baldwin, Freeman, and the chairman be set up to inquire and report on the working of the farm, particularly os .to tho dairying and produce. The report was adopted.
