As a result of the decision of the watersiders to cease work for twenty, four hours in view of a recent fatal accident, the wharves were practically idle to-day. The Northern Company’s vessels were tho only steamers not affected. It is estimated that tho losses of the shipping companies concerned will amount to about seven hundred pounds, in view of tho overtime to be paid for night work as a result of the delay.
