At the Supremo Court to-day John “crocks Wellan, of Levin, was acquitted on a charge of shooting with intent at a man whom he found in his wife’s bedroom. Hamuera Reweti, charged with attempting to shoot his wife near Dannevirke, was found guilty of common assault and admitted to probation. Albert Henry Light, a piano agent, charged with fraudulently failing to account for £lB to a person for whom he sold a piano, was convicted and admitted to probation for twelve months, and ordered to pay tho £lB and.ten guineas costs. HAMILTON, February 12. At the Supreme Court to-day Arthur Winter Ludgreen, on several charges of theft, was sentenced to twelve months’ imprisonment on each offence (tho sentences to he concurrent), and was ordered to undergo three years’ reformative treatment. A native, charged with tho theft of moneys, was acquitted. In the divorce case Flora Smith v. Kennedy Smith (desertion) and Thomas Frewin v. Minnie Frewin decrees nisi were granted. GISBORNE, February 12. George Irvine, alias Cox, alias Hogden, wbo pleaded guilty to charges of burglary at Makuri and forging a cheque for £ls on tho Union Bank, has been commited for sentence.
