MAGISTRATE’S COURT

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 10. (Before Mr W. G. Riddell, S.M.) William Mack, a fireman belonging to the Turakina, was sentenced to one month’s' imprisonment for deserting from the vessel. George Richard Farley, an elderly man, was remanded until to-morrow on a charge of indecently assaulting a girl six and a half years of age. For the disobedience of a maintenance order Thomas Asher was ordered to pay £1 Is costs. Richard Hastedt and Alexander Johnson were each ordered to pay 7s weekly towards the support of children. Johnson was also ordered to pay £8 8s costs.
