AUCKLAND EXHIBITION
COMMITTEE TO BE APPOINTED IN ASHBURTON. Press Association. ASHBURTON, February 7. At a meeting of the Ashburton County Council to-day the chairman said ho had been approached by the Mayor of Ashburton on the question or Ashburton sending exhibits to tha Auckland Exhibition. A discussion ensued, and finally it was resolved that a committee bo set up to confer with the Borough Council as to the advisableness of the county and borough having a court of their own at the exhibition, but that it be recommended to such committee to support a Canterbury court, to include an Ashburton bay, provided the amount of the required contribution was not too great. decision by McKenzie count* COUNCIL. TIMARU, February 7. The McKenzie County Council today, by the casting vote of the chairman, resolved to assist in the representation of South Canterbury at the Auckland Exhibition. TIMARU COMMITTEE APPOINTED, TIMARU, February 8. The first meeting of delegates aj*. pointed by the local authorities in connection with the representation of this district at the Auckland Exhibition was held to-day, but nothing definite was done except to appoint a committee and to arrange for a district court, as wa# dona at Christchurch.
