ST. HELENS HOME INQUIRE
"NO SERIOUS CAUSE FOR COMPLAINT/’ Press Association* AUCKLAND, February 1. At the Bt. Helens Home inquiry evfi denoe was taken to-day in regard to th* case of Mrs Stevenson, who. after leaving St. Helens, was admitted to tho general hospital, subsequently dying in a mental hospital. Several witnesses were called, in the course of her evidence. Miss McLean, Assistant Inspector of Hospitals, stated that it had been in contemplation- for some time to add a third trained nurse to the staff at St. Helens Home. The number of complaints made by patients or tholr friends regarding the conduct of the Home had been exceedingly small,, and Investigation in each instance revealed that there was no serious causa for complaint. The present site was selected with a view to -being the most advantageous for patients inside the hospital and for those likely to bo patients. The fact of tho hospital being eo close to cars was in some ways a drawback,, ibut this was compensated' for by 111* fact of its consequent handiness,
